You will be part of a dynamic team, committed to the provision of economic, market, policy, network engineering and economic regulatory advisory services to the energy sector, as well as other related industry sectors.

Candidate Specification

We’re seeking a senior economist (market analysis, regulation, policy) to complement our existing energy advisory team and help us contribute to a better energy future for all, with opportunities for career development and leadership in our adaptable, agile, and growing team.

Joining us in one of our main Australian offices (Brisbane /Sydney/ Melbourne/ Adelaide/ Perth) you will have the opportunity to work alongside a diverse national team of energy advisors who are passionate about what they do, with a proven track record guiding our clients, and delivering our expertise solving intricate challenges supporting our clients across our region (and globally).

The projects you will be engaged on are based across primarily our energy client portfolio, but it is anticipated that a general focus will be applied to other economic and social infrastructure such as water and transport.

To be successful, you will be committed to the highest standards of service, focused on strong client relationships and exceptional project outcomes.

A typical in your role involves:
Supporting the scoping and delivering of advice related to energy economic market modelling feeding into policy.

Assist power network and asset management investment modelling within the context of economic regulation.

Supporting business development associated with energy markets, power networks, and economic regulation.

Leading multiple and concurrent engagements with our clients, ensuring we provide high quality services and outcomes.

Job Profile

Our ideal candidate would have the following skills, experience, and attitude:

A relevant tertiary qualification in economics, legal or related field.

Established senior economist/regulatory/advisory practitioner with industry experience.

A keen interest and understanding of economic regulation and energy policy in the Australian context (and globally), with experience in analytical, economic, financial, and market modelling.

Advanced analytical, economic, financial, and market modelling skills.

Experience in a project environment providing quality technical knowledge and judgement and ability to lead small to medium size projects. Project management experience will be looked upon favourably.

Skilled technical writer with excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills.

Team and client focused and able to collaborate in a multi-discipline multi-geography environment.

Your aptitude to engaging with the business as well as external stakeholders will see you excel in this exciting role.
